Set your monthly plan
Start each month by entering your total income and setting a spending cap — the maximum you want to spend in total that month. This becomes your financial north star for the month.
Ziko helps you set your monthly income, cap your spending, track fixed bills and variable expenses by category — and sends you an email the moment you overspend. Simple, powerful, and completely free.

How it works
No complicated spreadsheets. No confusing dashboards. Ziko keeps budgeting as simple as it should be.
Start each month by entering your total income and setting a spending cap — the maximum you want to spend in total that month. This becomes your financial north star for the month.
Add your recurring bills — rent, internet, subscriptions, loan repayments. Ziko automatically carries them forward every month so you never re-enter them. Edit or delete anytime.
Create spending categories like Groceries, Transport, Eating Out, or Entertainment — each with its own monthly cap. Every time you spend, log it under the right category. Ziko does the maths for you.
Your budgeting journey
Here is exactly how a typical month in Ziko looks, from the moment you create your account.
Sign up with your email and a password, or use Google sign-in for one-click access. No payment details, no subscription, no trial period. Your account is free immediately and stays free forever.
At the start of each month, set your monthly income (e.g. $5,000) and total spending cap (e.g. $3,500). The cap is the maximum you plan to spend across everything — fixed bills plus variable day-to-day spending. Ziko immediately shows you how much room you have.
Add all your fixed monthly expenses: rent ($1,200), internet ($60), gym membership ($35), Netflix ($15), car insurance ($120). Enter them once. Ziko automatically carries these forward to every future month — so come May, they're already there. You can still edit amounts, delete old ones, or add new ones at any time.
Create flexible categories for your day-to-day spending. Examples: Groceries ($400/month), Transport ($200), Eating Out ($150), Entertainment ($100), Personal Care ($80). Each category has its own cap so you can see at a glance where you stand in every area of your life.
Every time you go grocery shopping, tap your Groceries category and add $65. Got an Uber? Tap Transport, add $12.50. The category total updates instantly. You can see your running balance for every category, and for your total month, in real time. Add a note and date to each entry for a full record.
When your Groceries spending goes over $400, Ziko instantly sends you an email alert — showing exactly how much you've spent, what the cap was, and how much you went over. Same alert fires if your total monthly spending exceeds your overall cap. No surprises at the end of the month.
At any point, check the Analytics view to see your spending patterns month by month across the whole year. See which months you stayed within budget, where you overspent, and how your habits trend over time. Use this insight to plan smarter every month.
Everything you need
Ziko is designed to remove the friction from personal finance — no spreadsheets, no complexity, just clarity.
Set a new plan every month with your income and total spending cap. Each month is independent so your tracking stays clean and organised.
Recurring bills like rent, internet, and subscriptions are carried over automatically each month. Enter once, forget forever — until you need to change them.
Create custom spending categories — Groceries, Transport, Dining, Entertainment, Health, Shopping, and more — each with its own cap and running total.
Get an automatic email alert the moment you exceed your total monthly cap or any individual category cap. Know in real time — not at the end of the month.
See your entire year at a glance. Month-by-month charts show your income, spending, caps, and savings trends so you can spot patterns and plan better.
Track your budget in USD, GHS (Ghanaian Cedi), NGN (Nigerian Naira), EUR, GBP, or CAD. Switch currency anytime with one tap.
Add Ziko to your iPhone or Android home screen like a native app. Works offline. No app store download required.
Sign in with your email and password, or use Google sign-in for instant one-click access. Your data is private and secured.
No freemium. No premium tier. No "free trial". Ziko is completely free for every feature, every user, forever. It is a free product by Vizra.

More detail on how Ziko compares when you're weighing a specific app.
Compared to YNAB
YNAB is powerful for envelope-style budgeting, but it costs every month. Ziko gives you income, fixed bills, category caps, and alerts — without a subscription.
Compared to Monarch
Monarch and similar apps rely on bank sync. Ziko is manual by design — you log what you spend, stay in control of your data, and still get real-time totals and alerts.
Compared to Mint / Credit Karma
Mint shut down. Credit Karma focuses on credit scores, not monthly caps. Ziko is a dedicated budget tracker with category limits and overspend emails.
Compared to Spendee
Spendee is a popular expense tracker with wallets and charts. Ziko goes further with monthly income, fixed bills, category caps, and email alerts when you exceed your plan.
Compared to Rocket Money
Rocket Money is great at finding subscriptions and negotiating bills, but budgeting is secondary. Ziko is built around monthly income, caps, and category tracking from day one.
Compared to EveryDollar
EveryDollar's free plan is limited — bank sync and advanced features need EveryDollar Plus. Ziko gives you caps, categories, alerts, and analytics at no cost.
Compared to Goodbudget
Goodbudget uses digital envelopes — similar spirit to Ziko's category caps. But the free tier caps envelopes and devices. Ziko does not limit how you budget.
Compared to PocketGuard
PocketGuard auto-imports transactions and shows "In My Pocket." Ziko lets you manually log spending — better if you want awareness, not just aggregation.
Compared to Simplifi
Simplifi by Quicken is a polished paid planner with bank sync. Ziko covers the essentials — income, fixed bills, variable caps, alerts — without a monthly Quicken bill.
Compared to Copilot Money
Copilot is a premium iOS-focused app with AI categorization and bank sync. Ziko runs on any device in your browser, installs as a PWA, and costs nothing.
Compared to Empower (Personal Capital)
Empower (formerly Personal Capital) focuses on net worth and investment dashboards. Ziko is a pure monthly budget tool — income, bills, caps, and overspend alerts.
Compared to bank apps
Chase, Wells Fargo, and other bank apps show what you spent — but rarely help you plan ahead with caps, fixed bills, and category limits for the whole month.
Compared to Cleo / AI chat apps
AI money apps like Cleo offer roasts and tips, but often push subscriptions for real budgeting. Ziko gives you a structured monthly plan you can stick to.
Other app names are used for fair comparison only. Details are based on publicly available information and may change.
Available on every device
Ziko is a Progressive Web App — which means you can install it on your iPhone or Android home screen and open it just like a native app. No app store. No download fees. Works offline too.
Pricing
Ziko is a completely free personal budget tracker. There is no premium plan, no subscription fee, and no credit card required — ever. We believe everyone deserves access to tools that help them manage their money better.
