Free Envelope Budget Calculator
What is an envelope budget calculator?
The envelope method puts a fixed cash cap on flexible categories — when the envelope is empty, spending stops until next month.
Enter monthly income, fixed bills (not in envelopes), and envelope amounts for groceries, dining, fun, and transport.
Income − Fixed bills − Envelope totals = Buffer / overage
See our envelope budgeting guide. Track envelope balances digitally in Ziko — no paper required.

How to read your results
- Remaining after plan — Income minus fixed bills and all envelopes — assign to savings or tighten caps if negative.
- Total envelope caps — Sum of flexible category limits you set.
- Fixed + envelopes — Must be at or below income for the plan to work.
When an envelope hits $0, pause that category until next month — or reallocate from buffer deliberately.
Quick questions
No — Ziko caps work like digital envelopes with alerts.
Fixed = same amount every month (rent). Envelopes = variable spending you want to cap.
Move money from another envelope or buffer — then adjust next month's caps.
